Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas has become an elite honeymoon resort destination while managing to preserve its laidback image. Cabo was once a tranquil fishing village and, in times long ago, a hangout for pirates. Although it’s no longer like the old fishing village and not many of the old pirates are seen around town anymore, the magic of Cabo remains. Nowadays you’ll find a perfect combination of great weather, exciting activities and spectacular scenery. Cabo is famous for its casual atmosphere and exciting nightlife, but it also boasts great beaches, lots of shopping and restaurants, and a variety of hotels and resorts - from its all-inclusive resorts to smaller hotels and intimate beachfront villas optimal for a honeymoon couple looking for the ultimate romantic getaway.

Geography/Environment
Stretching along the tip of Baja Peninsula is the sparkling resort of Cabo San Lucas known as the cape or Los Cabos in Spanish. Cabo San Lucas has a unique and striking desert landscape, dry climate, great outdoors and unspoiled beauty. Visitors are surrounded by a dramatic coupling of endless cactus desert, backed by cinnamon mountains, and bordered by miles of white sand beaches and clear blue water.
Activities
Playtime doesn't end when the sun goes down. The nightlife here is as hot as the desert in July, and oddly casual, not having grown up with the higher-end hotels that have gone in here. It's still the raucous, playful party scene that helped put Cabo on the map. A collection of popular restaurants and bars, spread along Cabo's main street, stay open and active until the morning's first fishing charters head out to sea. Despite the growth in diversions, Cabo remains more or less a "one stoplight" town, with most everything located along the main strip, within easy walking distance.

  • In Mexico only civil marriages are legally binding and are performed by the Registro Civil (Civil Registry).
  • Current passport as proof of ID and marital status.
  • Certified copy of both party's birth certificates.
  • Tourist card (received upon arrival in Mexico) or visa.
  • Names, addresses, nationalities, occupations and ages of both parents.
  • Health certificate and blood test (hotels will help set up the tests, which must be done in Mexico).
  • Four witnesses (these can be provided by a wedding planner or the hotel locally for an extra fee). Will also need to provide their names, addresses, occupations, ages and photo ID.
  • Divorce decree if applicable. It is necessary to be divorced one year in order to get married in Mexico.
